Military Explorations
On Friday, November 15th we had an informative and fun exploration in honor of Military Family Appreciation Month. We enjoyed a demonstration by Mrs. Aimee Brown with her Belgian Malinois named Nakita. The Belgian Malinois is the breed of dog that many branches of the military train for soldier duties. Nakita demonstrated her skill in obedience, did a scent search demonstration, and gave learners high fives. We also had a presentation by Ms. Kim Valdez, a former service woman of the U.S. Coast Guard. She described her experience on her ship and her time in service. Learners spent some time writing letters to our military men and women, thanking them for their service.
