Job Title: IT Assistant

Location: Delta, CO

Reports to: IT Administrator

Purpose: To provide onsite support to staff, learners, families, and the IT department in troubleshooting and maintaining hardware and software used for Vision Charter Academy (VCA).

Pay Scale: $17.99  – $22.71 per hour

Days/Year: 223 days

Hours/Week: 40 (Non-Exempt, Full-time)

Note: **Position is not remote and must report to a physical location.***

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background check to work in a school.

Special Knowledge/Skills: Must have great communication and customer service skills. The right candidate should be highly knowledgeable in troubleshooting software and hardware equipment, a wide array of software programs, websites, networking, system administration, and computer security issues.   Requires independent technology troubleshooting, organization, and prioritization.

Experience: Two years of experience in computer/device maintenance and repair, networking, and system administration.

General Description of Duties: The Information Technology Assistant will aid the Information Technology Administrator in the maintenance, training, and use of VCA technology.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Provide onsite technology support to families, learners, and staff members.
  2. Maintain and repair VCA computers (laptops, Chromebooks) on location.
  3. Maintain and repair IT devices (iPads, VOIP phone systems, televisions, printers, tablets, etc.) on location.
  4. Troubleshoot network services, operating systems, software, and hardware used by VCA.
  5. Knowledgeable independent technology troubleshooting.
  6. Technology installation, setup, and training.
  7. Maintain and support external and internal websites.
  8. Maintain and support the Learning Management System.
  9. Troubleshoot security issues.
  10. Troubleshoot and assist with technology issues for computer-based education programs and database system issues.
  11. Give necessary support and training to employees, families, and learners.
  12. Create and maintain IT training videos.
  13. Load, configure, and back up VCA technology.
  14. Assist with IT policies and procedure development.
  15. Maintain technology inventory.
  16. Assist in planning for and executing learner testing.
  17. Participate in employee evaluation and professional development opportunities.
  18. Set up and support school functions with IT equipment such as sound, mics, projectors, etc.
  19. Attend meetings, training, and committees as required.
  20. Meet organizational deadlines and communication protocols.
  21. Complete other duties relevant to the position as assigned by the supervisor.

Carry out other organizational requirements as necessary including, but not limited to:

  1. Communicate effectively and professionally with the staff members, learners, parents, administrators, and other contact persons.
  2. Participate in employee evaluation and professional development opportunities.
  3. Attend meetings, training, and committees as required.
  4. Meet organizational deadlines and communication protocols.
  5. Accomplish organizational goals by carrying out other duties relevant to the position as assigned by the supervisor.

Working Conditions:

  • This position works in a normal office environment.
  • This position works in a school environment.
  • Long periods of sitting, standing, talking on the telephone, and typing may be required.
  • It is common for this position to have a fluctuating schedule with increased periods of stress.
  • May be required to work evening hours for special program school events such as graduation.
